The Job Placement Officer (JPO) will be responsible for building links with employers/industries and identifying jobs and internships and obtaining suitable job opportunities for trained beneficiaries that match their skill sets. Develop linkages with the labor market and link/connect newly trained youth/beneficiaries with the respective industries or employers in the market. Make great connections with potential employers to maximize the opportunity for sustainable employment or other advancement opportunities for our trained beneficiaries. Carry out employability skills workshops and labor demand surveys in different sectors to discover new opportunities and place trainees in the respective sectors. JPO will carry out career advice, help develop a career plan and develop business development plans. JPO will also organize job fairs and exhibitions to promote qualified young people in the market. .JPO will also be responsible for the coordination, communication, and monitoring and evaluation of these jobs/internships.
Summary of Key Roles/Responsibilities:
The Job Placement Officer will support the selection of beneficiaries, preparation of lists, training arrangements and follow-up in the target communities and districts.
Close coordination and communication with selected trainees/beneficiaries and relevant stakeholders.
Develop a detailed work plan for the proper implementation of potential business development and job placement opportunities.
Maintain the database of trainees on a monthly basis.
Organize employability skills workshops for apprentices
Keep track of students and update their information in the database.
JPO will also explore potential teachers/experts/trainers in the market that could be used for our different training sessions based on needs and requirements.
Maintain a database of different potential expert trainers that can be used to deliver vocational/skills training.
Share progress reports/monthly updates.
Prepare/develop CVs for all trainees.
Develop a bank of apprentice CVs according to trades and share it with potential employers.
Maintain the CV database of all registered apprentices in an accessible and secure manner
Collect location information from trainees.
Maintain a database of employers and institutions to link trainees for placement.
Conduct market research on new job trends and update the same in the database and guide trainees accordingly.
Submit the placement/link status report on a regular basis, ie monthly, quarterly and as needed.
JPO will conduct career counseling, help develop a career plan, and develop business development plans.
Advise and counsel trainees on business development, career selection, job search, internships, and final placements.
Help students develop online profiles and complete online assessment forms and tests.
JPO will regularly share job notifications with trainees via SMS/WhatsApp, phone calls.
JPO will also organize job fairs and exhibitions to promote qualified young people in the market.
Develop success stories and share them regularly.
Support for data management, reporting and capacity building.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in management/social sciences or other relevant discipline.
A minimum of five years of professional experience in planning, business development, training and field implementation, and/or coordination, liaison, job placement and training, relevant experience in humanitarian and emergency response and related areas, in community engagement, media life, program/ development and project management is an asset.
Excellent English and local language proficiency skills (written, read and spoken).
Excellent planning, coordination, communication, capacity building and networking skills.
Proven ability to effectively manage relationships with stakeholders.
Availability and willingness to travel.
