Sheikh Rasheed Arrested Muslim Awami League (AML) chief Sheikh Rashid has been arrested at Murree Motorway, police confirmed in the early hours of Thursday, a move that drew strong criticism from Pakistan’s President Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Imran Khan, who has close relations with the former Home Secretary.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rawalpindi Branch Chairman Raja Inayat Ur Rehman filed a case against Rashid at the Aabpara Police Station in Islamabad for alleging that former President Asif Ali Zardari was hatching a plot to assassinate the PIT chief.
The PTI president had alleged in January that Zardari was plotting and financing an assassination plot against him for which the former president had hired “terrorists.”
“… there is a Plan C. Asif Zardari is behind it. He has amassed a lot of money through corruption and has invested it in terrorists and hired a militant organization,” the PTI chief had alleged. However, the PPP strongly denied the claim and served Khan with a legal notice.
